SAFETY INSPECTIONS

Your home’s heating and cooling system should give you many years of service with proper maintenance. But your heating and cooling systems won't just keep chugging along, year after year, with little or no maintenance. In the worst case, improperly maintained equipment may compromise safety by causing dangerously high levels of carbon monoxide (CO), resulting in death or injury.

If you suspect CO poisoning in your home, call your local fire department. Open windows and doors to ventilate the rooms, or in severe cases of CO exposure, evacuate the home.

Heating System Safety

Carbon monoxide is an odorless, colorless, tasteless gas that kills more than 500 Americans every year. Initial symptoms are similar to flu, and include headache, fatigue, shortness of breath, nausea and dizziness.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends annual inspections of all systems that produce CO, including household furnaces and heating units. Your health and safety should only be entrusted to a qualified and licensed technician who will ensure the job is done properly, safely and according to code.

Our $89 annual tune-up includes an initial furnace inspection and diagnostic test, a carbon monoxide test, all electrical components, calibration of thermostats, replacing air filters, testing for gas leaks and cleaning of heat exchanger if needed.

Cooling System Safety

Your air conditioning system should be serviced annually. If your system is not working properly, schedule a service appointment early in the season, before the weather gets hot (and you get desperate). Hot weather in North Texas can run from April through October.
